Our Company History
The idea of Sierra Manufacturing was born to fuse the best practices of the United States with the passion and dedication of a nascent automotive power in Mexico, thus creating a leader in the manufacture of indexable inserts. Co-founded by Lic. Teri Sue Fagin and Eng. Michael Worth Martin in 1995, as a secondary factory after the signing of the NAFTA trade agreement.
Today the company is owned by his son, Lic. Andrew Michael Martin, whose experience in international business and technology positions the company for future growth focused on manufacturing 4.0.

Andrew Michael Martin moves from the United States to take charge of the day-to-day management of the business as CEO.
2014
Sierra starts grinding CBN with surprising results.
2017
Sierra begins its business relationship with General Motors.
2018
Shannon Marie Martin joins the team as Director of Administration.
2019
Michael Martin retires and sells the company to his son Andrew Michael Martin.
In our quest to continually improve our quality, Sierra acquires the IM-7000 dimensional image measurement system from Keyence.
2021
Sierra begins manufacturing precision electrodes.
